Book on Indian Volunteer Experiences!

Welcome to the family of returned & serving VSO volunteers from India! Some of us had the opportunity to get together at a recent Returned Volunteer Weekend organised by IVO in Delhi on 13-14 March! It was so great to share the excitements, the challenges, the surprises & what was more interesting was how most of us had found tremendous inner strength & motivation to carry on in the face of difficulties. No matter how good or bad the placement or accommodation or social life was, we… Continue

Hi Manali!!
How r u ? It was wonderful to listen to ur experiences in Nizeria in the FAQ session on 16th May. I must say that the session became so much more interesting because of the two way interaction. I have got assessment on the 26th May and sincerely hope that apart from the information I get from the websites the knowledge gained through the FAQ session would really help. By the way the contents of ur blog are really wonderful including the lovely pics.... Thanks
Mukib

Hi Manali,
Hope u r fine. Thank u so much for that reply, eventhough its after such a long time. I cancelled my trip at the very last moment due to my mother's health cos she is a heart patient and has been operated twice. More over there are moments when u have to think and decide the best, especially while one is under financial constraints. Yes mana, after not hearing from u, made me feel a bit sad and I thought that may be I was odd in asking queries in anyway to you, and that's why u did not reply. I am a very simple and straight forward guy and like to talk straight, therefore apologies for being odd in any way. Any ways, Its nice to hear that you have completed you term and back home. How was your experience in Nigeria? Would appreciate to hear more from u. I was placed in Makurdi of Benue state. I wrote to Wankhem Dilip Singh (Tanzania) for any contacts at Nigeria and he gave me Biswajit Das Pattnaik's id who was in Jos state then and wrote a long detailed letter to me with lots of informations on Nigeria. My placement was for six months. That was a real good period of exposure for me. But u see everything's in God's hands. Presently, I am working with HelpAge India.
Looking forward to hear more from you, I remain.
With Regards,
