Indian Volunteer working in Developing countries of Asia and Africa

On dated 19th April 2009 Sunday at 5.00 pm I was going to find out a catholic church, in Ullanbattar Capital city of Mongolia. Since; Being a new I was accompanied by a Mongolian National Volunteer(NV) of Organization Window to Development(W2D) Mr. Norbek; who does not know English Lanuage.....
Mr.Norbek and I were together walking on the street towards UB palace to find out the Catholic Church named as st. Marry. I thought being a Mongolian Norberk is well known about the area can lead me to find the church. On the street we were busy in walking to reach the place; at the moment all of sudden I marked gossiping of three boys on the street and we had to cross over them. At the moment we reached in front of them to cross over; One of them came in front of me and greeted me with the word “Hello”…..I could not make up my mind that what is going to be happen. My god! Then one by one two other guys also greeted me. And one of them started to discuss with the National Volunteer Norbek in Mongolian Language. By actions of their tone and behaviors indicated me to understand that there is something wrong going to happen with us. I noticed that they are the group of bully. Then they asked for some money from Norbek. But! He refused them that he did not have money. Then also they did not believe on us continuously they tried their tricks to find some money from us. Finally he showed them his money penny openly to prove them that we do not have money. But! They were not in mood to understand anything; continuously one was asking money to Norbek and two of them were asking about me that what do I do and how did I come to Mongolia? . Thereafter, I tried them to convince that we are going to Church for praying; since we do not have money we are going by walking. Then they took our snap on their mobile. Then two of them left us from that place. And one of them continuously followed us to find out the Church. I was continuously asking to Noberk about the distance of Church. Finally I came to know that Norbek also did not have the knowledge about where Church is? On the way I marked that the person who was following us also discussing with his two friends where he is leading us. He was walking our side by side and asking his two friends to come over a place where he is leading to us. I asked slowly to Norbek what is happening and What he is discussing on the mobile. Norbek replied me situation is very bad keep quiet. Then we reached to a square. There I saw two traffics police and decided in my mind to discuss with them. As we were in position to reach to the traffics police; I show that two other boys who had left us before are discussing with the Traffics Police. I could not think in my mind what to do? Then I asked Norbek to discuss with the traffics police and ask for help. But! The situation was so critical one of them who followed us started with discussing with Norbek. And other two of them asking about my mobile. But! I refused them about my mobile that I do not have. By this time traffics police went away from that place. Finally they gave their Mobile no. 88137724 to Norbek and Norbek also gave them his Mobile no 95419889. Finally they asked that they will visit Norbek School to meet again. As they left for some distance I asked Norberk to turned back to change the way to find a car. Then finally we got a car and came back to VSO office. After coming back to VSO office Emergency call was made to VSO Country Director.
Then on dated 20th April-2009 verbally it was reported to Mrs. Oyuna (PO) and Country Director VSO Mongolia.

Hi Chamundra, I don't understand what exactly happened? What did the guys want eventually? Did Norbek later tell a translator what transpired? Norbek told you the situation was too bad, keep quiet.......did he tell in the last 14 days what was it all about?
